XV edition of Traditional Crafts Week
The XV edition of Traditional Crafts Week has passed. In the courtyard of the museum, a veritable bazaar of craft workshops took shape. The masters’ week We was very interesting, colourful and unique.
The year 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Stoina Krastanova, a deserved master of traditional arts and crafts, therefore one of the focuses of the Traditional Crafts Week was ancient textile techniques. Thanks to the collaboration with the Stoina Krastanova Foundation, our guests were representatives of the group for ancient embroidery boutis from Pern-les-Fontaines, France.
Masters come from China to demonstrate three local crafts. The first introduced us to artistic techniques related to paper cutting and engraving, the second one was a specific type of Shu style embroidery, and the third showed us the making of shadow dolls.
As a tradition we celebrate St. Petre`s Day and we had a lot of fun.
Our partner and supporter of the annual Crafts Week was the Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Southeast Europe – Sofia.

Looking forward to see you here next year!
