The Living Heritage of Traditional Bulgarian Cuisine
On 27 June 2023 at 18. 00, as part of the events of the Traditional Crafts Week, Unesco Centre Sofia will present the project “The Living Heritage of Traditional Bulgarian Cuisine” funded by the Programme for Restoration and Development of Private Cultural Organizations of the National Culture Fund.
Traditional Bulgarian cuisine is an important topic because it reveals social relations, significant moments in the calendar, and long-lasting links of local communities with the natural environment, and is an important element of the local cultures. The project interprets the living heritage of traditional cuisine in a photographic exhibition, digital catalogue and short films. The emphasis is on experience, and creativity in maintaining tradition and its transmission, communication and sharing as a living heritage.
This year also marks the 20th anniversary of signing the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
We look forward to seeing you!
