In Search of a Path
On March 22, 2024, at 6 pm in the Regional Ethnographic Museum – Plovdiv will be opened the exhibition “In Search of a Path”. Daniela Dicheva will present her second project – a contemporary interpretation of the Bulgarian authentic and original embroidery.
Bulgarian folklore is a separate world, unique in its whole essence. Folklore is a transmission of ancestral memory, knowledge inherited from generations through music, dance, colours and patterns.
Within the exhibition “In Search of a Path” small panels with handmade frames of wood, measuring 20/20 and 30/30 will be shown. Some of the models are based on original schemes by Elisaveta Yordanova, while others are inspired by motifs of authentic embroideries from different regions of Bulgaria. In addition, there will be other items with handmade Bulgarian embroidery, such as table-center cloths, bags, belts, bridal aprons and more.
At the opening of the event will be presented the Chamber Vocal Formation “B-Folk” conducted by Maestro Svetoslav Baltakov. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the Bulgarian folk song, presented in a new and different way, which promises to be influential and original.
The exhibition can be viewed until April 4, 2024.
