GAYTAN MAKING (BRAID-WEAVING) HALL
Accompanying the aba making is the braid tailoring craft, which makes a woven cord – Gaytan, to decorate the homespun and traditional costumes. This production is particularly developed in the sub-Balkan towns – Karlovo and Kalofer, which implement the new European invention, the so-called Gaytan cogwheel – a forerunner of the industrial revolution. On display is this Gaytan-knitting machine, which uses water power, similar to mills.
