A PLOVDIV’S GUEST ROOM
The interior of a guest room, typical of wealthy Plovdiv merchants, is represented here. The room is furnished with sumptuous late Empire-style furniture purchased from Vienna and belonged to Major General Vasil Delov – a Bulgarian officer who participated in the wars for national unification. Beautiful objects imported from Europe are displayed on the ala-franga niche and the tables – plates made of English porcelain, vases, glass fruit bowl, silver candlesticks, samovar, mantel clocks, and silver water set.
