Reconstruction of Bulgarian customs and music from the XVI century
The Regional Ethnographic Museum – Plovdiv is a partner and host of an important event – “Reconstruction of Bulgarian customs and music from the XVI century”. Petya Krusheva and The Association for the Restoration of Bulgarian Traditions “Avitohol”, Varna, are the creators of this event. The reconstruction of an ancient custom related to the music, instruments, clothing, and hospitality of the Bulgarians contributes to preserving our cultural heritage, historical memory, and the specific Bulgarian identity from the Middle Ages.
Curious scientific evidence and source material lay at the restoration base for our past. Dr Alexandra Fol decrypted the music text. Freya Music Group reconstructed the music and the musical instruments. Based on images and archaeological data from the 16th century, Dr Kalina Atanasova restored the clothes.
The realization of this event is with the financial support of the Municipality of Plovdiv.
Upcoming information and surprises are expected on the day of the event`s opening – the 1st of October 2024, at 6 p.m. in the saloon of REM – Plovdiv.
