The Regional Ethnographic Museum – Plovdiv will host the 13th edition of the International Biennial “Masters of Caricature” in October. Co-organizers of the event are: Regional Ethnographic Museum – Plovdiv, University of Agribusiness and Rural Development – Plovdiv, Society of Plovdiv Cartoonists.

🎨 Theme for 2025:
WINE and LOVE, LOVE and WINE
It is inspired by the eternal bond between wine and love – an extraordinary pair that time cannot destroy. Wine and love intoxicate, seduce, and transform life into a more vivid and exciting experience, leaving behind a bittersweet aftertaste. They invite us to enjoy the moment, to find the balance between passion and wisdom, and to laugh at their unpredictability.

This theme gives authors the opportunity to interpret with humor and creativity the relationship between these two concepts – from romance and passion to irony and the comic aspects of life. We are looking forward to your works, which through caricature will capture the magic of wine and love, combined in one unique artistic experience!

📌 TERMS OF PARTICIPATION:

The Caricature Biennial is open to professional and amateur cartoonists from around the world.

Each participant must submit at least one work, sized 210 x 297 mm (A4 format).

The works can be color or black and white.

All submissions must be received no later than July 31, 2025.

Caricatures sent by email may be included in the exhibition, but will not participate in the competition or receive awards.

It is recommended to include a photo or caricature of the author and a short biography.

An international jury will select five cartoonists to be awarded the title “Master of Caricature”.

Awarded caricatures will not be returned.

All other works will be returned upon the author’s written request.

Cartoonists included in the exhibition catalogue will receive a free copy.
