Since 2007, Traditional Crafts Week is an annual event in the cultural calendar of Plovdiv that contributed greatly with the development of cultural tourism in the city. We aim to preserve and promote traditional ancient crafts (cutlery, coppersmithing, jewellery making, candle making, pastoral carving, musical instrument making, basketry, pottery, weaving, felting and many more) and master techniques by inviting artisans from all over Bulgaria to show their secrets and techniques to the general public.   Our mission is to show the current state of folk crafts, to encourage the youth’s interest and support the preservation and development of Bulgarian traditions, which are gradually disappearing in modern society.   Within a week, everyone can peek into the secrets of Bulgarian craftsmanship, to craft something and bring it home.
