The International Biennale Masters of Caricature is an event that is organized jointly with the Municipality of Plovdiv, the Society of Plovdiv Cartoonists and VUARR – Plovdiv since 2001. Through an open call for entries on a special ethnographic theme, different for each edition, cartoonists from around the world submit their proposals and are featured in a curated exhibition. A special jury distinguishes twenty artists with nominations of which five receive the title, “Master of Caricature,” and their works entered the Photo Gallery and Fine Art fund. The best works are included in a special catalogue published in Bulgarian and English.
